Winter Maintenance for 2024/2025

Be prepared to ride a little higher this year.

In order to avoid some flooding problems that seem to be due to the water level in the River Bure being a little higher of late, we have undertaken the task of raising the Riverside railway six inches adjacent to the river.  This necessitated the shipping of several tons of hardcore, which had to be transported down the garden to the worksite.

Another challenge was that of lifting the bridge up and inserting steel beams under it to raise it's height to that of the new track.

All this work, will be completed by Easter to facilitate our reopening.
