Can I book online?
There is no need to book online. You are welcome to turn up on the day. We’re sorry, but we are unable to offer online tickets at this time.
Do I need a ticket for every journey?
No. Your entrance fee of £10 for adults and £5 for children gives unlimited rides on the Riverside and Mid-land Railway, admission to the museum and tea, coffee and squash during your visit. The only additional things to pay for are the ‘drive a loco’ experience and a small donation to visit the signalbox.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome onsite. Dogs must remain on leads and we have special dog tickets available to buy so they can enjoy the trains too.
Can I buy first class?
First class tickets are available to purchase – giving you a cushion to ride in luxury.
Where should I park?
Parking at Barton House is very limited, so we recommend using public parking in Wroxham village centre and hopping on one of our free shuttle boats to reach us — it’s a scenic and enjoyable way to start your visit! If you require accessible parking, spaces are available on-site. Just use postcode NR12 8TL for directions.
Do you have baby change?
We have baby change facilities and an accessible toilet available on site.
Do you take card payments?
Yes we are able to take card payments.
Am I guaranteed a ride on a steam train?
Our railway is entirely run by volunteers, and our trains are lovingly maintained by them. Sadly, sometimes a steam train will be unable to run due to unforeseen circumstances but we always have our electric trains available.
Are you an accessible site?
If you arrive by road, you can park in our small car park with step free access to the main station on a gravel path. We also have an accessible toilet. The trains are small, working trains with miniature carriages, so access for people with mobility problems may be difficult.
